Congratulations to our new Black Belts

2008 started with the success of four more students obtaining their

1st Degree Black Belts and two existing Instructors passing 2nd Degree.

Beth Godsall, Justine Tomkins, Josh Williams and Thomas Wills received

!st Dan recognition while Corin Dongworth and Peter Rogers received

their 2nd Dans - Well Done!

 

 

COLOUR BELT GRADING

The next colour belt grading will be held on During September.

Grading applications will be available from the end of August.

 

LICENSE/INSURANCE

Please check your license has not expired, it is the responsibility of the

student to ensure that you are currently covered. Anyone found to be uninsured

will be excluded from training until the necessary paperwork has been completed

and cover has been resumed. Please check now!

 

 

CRB Check forms for Instructors are now available from Mr Burton.

Please contact him for details and to arrange an appointment to apply

(A CRB check certificate will soon be a legal requirement for all

Instructors)

 

An Instructors course will be scheduled for later this Year.

It will consist of several workshops followed by an assessment with

a certificate of qualification issued to successful candidates.

All applicants must hold a current First Aid & CRB certificate.

 

 

A full list of tournament dates are now available.

Any students wishing to compete must speak to Mr Rogers.

All Style Referees will be required to attend at least 2 events this year.

Any Black Belts interested in sparring or synchronised patterns please

speak to Mr Burton.

 

 

THAI-BO FITNESS INSTRUCTOR COURSE

Has been rescheduled to take place once all applications have been received

with payment in full.

Thai-Bo classes are now back at Leigh &

Bransford Hall on Wednesdays 8.30-9.30pm to give potential Instructors

chance to see what Thai-Bo is all about and have chance to instruct segments of

the class.

Thai-Bo classes are still held at Sport Dyson Perrins 7.00-8.00pm Thursdays.

 

 

SPARRING SEMINAR 2

With Francisco Vincente Martin 3rd Degree WTF and trainer to many champions

including the current K1 champion of Spain.

Thanks to all who attended the recent Seminar.

Mr Paco was that impressed with the discipline and effort put in by students that

he is planning another visit soon.

Dates for the return of Mr Paco will be available once flights have been finalised.

 

 

SUMMER CAMP Friday Friday 12th- Monday 15th September 2008

Whitemead Forest Park, The Forest of Dean.

The event is staged once again in the rally field with various events activities

planned for the three days.

For those that have not joined us before the price for the event includes

use of the indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, gymnasium

plus all the outdoor activities and games that the Instructors have planned.

In addition to our own activities the Whitemead have introduced their own events.

Rock climbing, Zipwire, Trapeze, Archery, shooting etc.

Please let Mr Burton if you want to book.

All booking forms for camping must be received with payment by 15/07/08.

 

 

BLACK BELT WORKSHOPS

Various workshops will be held this year in the run up to the 2008 Black Belt

testing. These will be open to higher grade students also and will cover all

aspects of the Black Belt testing syllabus. Please see Mr Burton for details.

 

BLACK BELT TESTING

We will be holding the next Black Belt testing on Saturday 4th October

at Leigh & Bransford Hall. The testing will be conducted by Master Lorenzo 

with a two hour workshop prior to the test. The class will commence at 1.00pm

and will be open to all Black Belts plus higher grade students. Students will be

asked to vacate the premises as soon as the workshop has finished to make way

for the testing. Please see Mr Burton for details

 

 

INSTRUCTORS COURSE (Black belts only)

Torrevieja, Spain. Mid/end October. Details available later.

 

ANNUAL COLOUR BELT GRADING

Will be scheduled for November.
